EuCNC & 6G Summit

Málaga ES
EuCNC & 6G Summit

We are proud to announce the presence of ETSI SDG TeraFlowSDN (TFS) in the 2026 edition of EuCNC & 6G Summit, which took place in Málaga, ES from 2-5 June 2026.

Overview

The 2026 EuCNC & 6G Summit builds on putting together two successful conferences in the area of telecommunications: EuCNC (European Conference on Networks and Communications), supported by the European Commission, and the 6G Summit, originated from the 6G Flagship programme in Finland, one of the very first in its area. The conference is sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc), the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) and the European Association on Antennas and Propagation (EurAAP), and focuses on all aspects of telecommunications ranging from 5G deployment and mobile IoT to 6G exploration and future communications systems and networks, including experimentation and testbeds, and applications and services. It brings together cutting-edge research and world-renown industries and businesses, globally attracting in the last years more than 1000 delegates from more than 40 countries all over the world, to present and discuss the latest results, and an exhibition with more than 50 exhibitors, for demonstrating the technology developed in the area, namely within research projects from EU R&I programmes.

Retrospective & Resources

Conference, Booth, Demos and Awards !

Here are some highlights of the strong participation of ETSI SDG TeraFlowSDN (TFS) :

✨ A talk on “Collaborative Multi-Agent Systems for Self-Healing Transport Networks using TeraFlowSDN” presented by Ricard Vilalta (SDG TeraFlowSNS Chair, CTTC) in the Workshop “Agentic AI and Agentic Networking for Next-Generation Computer Networks" - WS7 (Tuesday | 09:00–12:30).

✨ A Workshop (WS9): Bridging Research, Software and Standards towards AI-Native Networks ( Tuesday | 14:00–17:30) drived by Silvia Almagia (ETSI Director) and Luis Miguel Contreras Murillo (SDG TeraFlowSDN Vice-Chair, Telefónica). In this workshop Ricard Vilalta (SDG TeraFlowSNS Chair, CTTC) discussed the role of AI in the evolution of autonomous networks. His presentation highlighted key directions from the ETSI White Paper and explored how intelligence and AI-driven capabilities are being integrated into ETSI standardisation activities, enabling more adaptive, automated, and efficient network management across all ETSI SDGs.

✨ A poster titled “Design and Validation of an Open-Source Standards-Compliant Network Slice Controller” presented by Luis Miguel Contreras Murillo, SDG TeraFlowSDN Vice-Chair (Telefónica) and Javier Velázquez Martinez, SDG TeraFlowSDN MDG NSC Leader (Telefónica) in in P-1.16 (Wednesday | 14:30–15:000 ).

✨ A Convened Session W9 on “6G Research into Standardisation: Maximising European Impact through Collaboration” in sala de Conferencias 1 (1.2) (Friday | 09:00-10:30). Where Silvia Almagia, ETSI director, presented an overview on ETSI Software Development Groups for bridging research into standards.

✨ A presence at the ETSI booth #87 throughout the week, showcasing related demos and cross-SDG demonstrations. related demos and cross-SDG demos.

🏅 ETSI Research and Innovation Awards

The first edition of the ETSI Research and Innovation Awards, announced during the EuCNC & 6G Summit 2026, also brought exceptional recognition to the SDG TeraFlowSDN ecosystem:

🏆🏆 ETSI Best Collaborative Project Award

FLEX-SCALE and Hexa-X-II, two projects from the ETSI SDG TeraFlowSDN ecosystem, received the Best Collaborative Project Award at the inaugural ETSI Research and Innovation Awards. 👏🎉

🏆 ETSI Young Researcher Award

A huge congratulations to Javier Velázquez Martinez (SDG TeraFlowSDN NSC MDG Leader, Telefónica) for being recognised as the winner in the Young Researcher category at the EuCNC & 6G Summit. 🎉👏

🌐 These achievements mark another outstanding milestone for the ETSI SDG TeraFlowSDN community and its continued contribution to the future of telecommunications. 🚀

Cross-SDG Lab Demo

We held a very sucessful demo to SNS-JU representatives, explaining our efforts to integrate all ETSI SDGs together.

The video recording of the Cross SDGs Lab Joint Demo is made available here on our YouTube channel.
